SEO Tip of the Day: Competitive Link Analysis
One of the most interesting things that always comes to my attention is the lack of attention that most search marketers give to their competitors back links. If your competitor is outranking for a keyword or one of your most important terms, why not do a competitive link analysis? Links are one of the most important parts of building trust within the search engines. (editorial links that is, not paid links)
I am going to show you a real life example of how I would do a competitive link analysis on a top website ranking for the keyword golf clubs. In this example I will use the website www.GolfSmith.com to understand why they rank #1 for the keyword golf clubs by analyzing there back links.
SEO Tip of the Day: Read Other Popular SEO/SEM Blogs

You can find A TON of information online of how to do SEO and alot of it is wrong, but if you know the right blogs to read you can find the RIGHT information.
Here are a list of Blogs with a direct link to there feeds for you to start subscribing to and reading there blogs, you will find it very very helpful. I would suggest to use Google Reader or your most popular RSS reader of your choice.
SEO Tip of the Day: Always Use Unique Title Tags
Our first tip of the day is an important one. Always use unique title tags for your website. No matter how big or small always try to come up with a unique title tag for your pages. Yeah, that’s that right anything between your <title> and </title> is what this tip is all about.
Unique title tags are a key factor for search engines to determine what your specific page is about. When trying to decide what exactly could this page be about… remember not to keyword stuff your title tags and to keep your most “important” keyword you would want that page to rank for at the beginning of your title tag (as far left as possible). Title tags should not be anywhere between 60 and 90 characters.
Is Walmart Losing SEO Value For 18,000+ Links?
While browsing around the internet shopping online I recently visited Walmart.com and was checking out their SEO strategy and something caught my eye. I always spelt Walmart; Wal-mart with a hyphen and noticed maybe a re-branding effort going on to make it just Walmart and I have even seen Wal*mart as well. We’ll throughout their store and there website their are references to all three variations but the biggest one that caught my eye was that I actually went to Wal-mart.com only to find out that I actually was redirected to Walmart.com.
